Could u really learn how to play the guitar threw reading tabs?
I used to be a saxaphone player and we read music like notes, etc and its was easier then i tought and fun but i learned threw school and free and now i want to learn how to play guitar but they wont teach at school and many of my friends say just read tabs…that what they do and they are not bad i mean i know alot who do tabs but i also know that u could also read music notes can u really learn how to play the guitar like that?
Yes, you could learn some basics through reading tabs, but without proper instruction you may only be able to go so far. For many people, teaching yourself creates bad habits. Since you can already read music, if you could get formal training, it would definitely help and you would already have a head-start. Try looking at a community college. They usually have classes that would be open to all ages, and may be as little as $20 for a semester of classes.

i played alto sax in middle/high school and learned guitar by myself. i actually learned my first song by watching a video and copying the fingerings that I saw. then i learned that i was going the REALLY hard route. tabs are the "easiest" ways to learn songs, but you need to learn the chords as well. you can read the actually musical notes like sax music, but you have to take into consideration that you’ll be playing multiple notes at once in chords. so it would be less like sax music and more like piano music, having to read multiple notes simultaneously. tabs are far easier. get yourself a chord chart or book and some easy tab books for bands that aren’t too technically difficult or that you know real well. that way when you play along, you’ll know the mistakes right away because it’ll sound different than what you’re supposed to know.

I played the trumpet before learning the guitar, and my knowledge of reading music did not help in learning the guitar at all. The guitar is totally different, you can play the same note at many places on the fretboard.
If you don’t want a private teacher, start out with online video lessons, thats a good way to go.

i could be possible as long as you can read the guitar tabs, you should have no problem. or you could get private lessons out side of school
