Hi yo, are there any good and reliable guitar repair/set-up shops in, at or around sunset blvd? preferably near the Guitar Center there: i don’t trust GC to set-up well enough*
What is a guitar set up shop ?????
Well basically, I’m a complete nub at guitars. I’m just starting out and i only know one chord (woot!) so that clears that up.
I’m getting my first electric guitar (already have an acoustic) next month, and I was looking at my choices at guitar center the other day.
what i’m thinkign about getting is an Ibanez RG120 guitar($199), and a Line 6 Spider III 15w amp. ($99)
overall thats going to run me about $340 with tax and a cable.(I was only suppsoed to spend 250 but i got away with a lil more money. Cant spend anymore than that though keep in mind)
anyone who knows Heavy Metal could tell me if this is a half decent setup for a beginner?

haha thats what caught my eye was the metal mode….then i saw insane mode and was like o0o0o0o0o!!!! lol!
I like effects 
reverbs n echos n all that. so i thought the amp was the best choice.
As for fenders, i hear they are more for all types of music (generally) as for the ‘nez RG120 is more of a screamer metal guitar….i couldnt say thats fact but its what i generally understood from what the guy at Guitar Center told me.
Interesting enough…i went in there with the thought of wanting a squier strat, and he redirected me to the ibanez’ and said it would more fit what i’m tryign to do.
as an owner of that same amp you’re gonna get a solid metal tone for the money you put into it. it’s easy to get carried away on the insane setting and distortion boost and i own a fender stratocaster. no, it’s not the best, but i’m happy with it.

What would be a good setup for an electric guitar playing Gothic Rock or Grunge? I want something with dark, and muddy tones. I’m thinking of using a double Humbucker. If anyone could give me a good selection of Guitars, Amps, and anything else i might want, That would Be Awesome.
(Oh and I’m Looking for a guitar for under 500.) Amp, Well, I don’t plan on playing at concerts, (Lol) So even a 32 watt is fine.
I Honestly do not know the setups very well. But I Don’t Need "Beginner" anything. So give me a lot of info please!

I want the guitar to be leaning on the gothic rock side. Think 80’s The Cure, Sisters Of Mercy, Xmal Deutchland, 69 eyes.
Not So Much Bauhaus…
I patiently Wait For More Responses.
And Remember: Less than $500.
I recommend that you go to a guitar shop and try out several different one to see which one you prefer, as everyone has different like and dislikes. I prefer jackson, b.c. rich, and even some fenders can give you a decent grunge sound, but trial and error is still the best way to choose.
